Most recognized for her role as Bill Cosby's mother on 'The Cosby Show,' Clarice Taylor succumbed to heart failure on Monday, according to People. The 93-year-old actress was surrounded by family when she passed away.
Taylor was nominated for a 1986 Emmy for her seven-year role as Anna Huxtable in the celebrated sitcom.
She also had a recurring role on Sesame Street as the grandmother to the character David; she played the Good Witch in the original cast of The Wiz; she starred as Grady’s cousin Emma on Sanford and Son and appeared in Clint Eastwood’s movie Play Misty for Me, just to name a few roles.
Taylor was also an active member of the New York Stage group and the Negro Ensemble Company -- her presence as a leading actress in the African-American community did not go by unnoticed.
Taylor's legacy will not be forgotten by her fans, two sons, William and James, and five grandchildren.
